The Grand Lady of Iran
Lady Khadijeh Saqafi was born on 1st March 1914. At the age of 16 she married the clergyman Roohollah Moosavi Khomeini, who would later become Ayatollah Khomeini, Supreme Leader and founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979. This biography of Lady Khadijeh explores her 60 years with the Ayatollah, a hugely important period which came to shape Iran as it is today.
